Boca Raton baseball fans will want to attend in person the Marlins game at LoanDepot Park stadium in Miami when the Marlins take on the Washington Nationals on Sunday, August 23rd. That will be an exciting opportunity to cheer on Boca Mayor Andy Thomson as he takes the mound to throw the ceremonial first pitch on what will be the 3rd annual celebration of the team’s Boca Raton Day.
“Boca Raton Day is a wonderful opportunity for our residents to come together for an afternoon of baseball fun and community,” said Mayor Thomson. “Sports have been a big part of my life, both as a player and a coach, so it’s an absolute honor to throw out the first pitch, which, by the powers vested in me as Mayor, I hereby proclaim to be a strike.”
Discounted tickets are available and can be purchased in advance through the Marlins’ Boca Raton Day ticket page. Tickets will be delivered electronically through the MLB Ballpark app.

For those who would prefer to take the TriRail from Boca rather than drive there is a train scheduled to leave the Boca station on Sunday at 10:59 a.m., which takes you to the Miami Airport station at 12:15. A short ride of 10 or 15 minutes by cab, Uber or Lyft is the simplest way to get to the ballpark well ahead of game time. (There is also a shuttle train that leaves from the MetroRail Transfer Station before the Airport, which requires connecting to a Trolley, but that may be confusing for some.) If you will be returning to Boca after the game, TriRail trains leave the Miami Airport station at 4:35 and 5:35, arriving in Boca at 5:03 and 6:03 p.m.
