As we move into the fall season, here are some important safety reminders to help keep Boca Pointe secure and running smoothly.
1. Lock Doors and Vehicles
Please keep your home doors and car doors always locked. Most problems happen when something is left unlocked.
2. Keep Exterior Lighting in Good Condition
Proper lighting helps prevent unwanted activity. Check that porch lights, garage lights, and walkway lights are working. Replace any bulbs that are out.
3. Don’t Leave Items in Your Car
Bags, electronics, and other valuables should not be left in plain view.
4. Pick Up Packages Quickly
Package theft rises during the holiday season. Bring deliveries inside as soon as possible. If you will not be home, consider asking a trusted neighbor to help.
5. Report Anything Strange
If you see anything that does not look right, such as unfamiliar people near homes or cars circling the area, please report it immediately. If you can safely get a license plate number, that information is very helpful. Quick reporting allows patrol officers to respond faster.
6. Maintain Landscaping for Better Visibility
Overgrown bushes and trees can block views and create hiding spots. Keeping landscaping trimmed helps patrol officers see more clearly and improves overall safety.
7. Do Not Share Your Gate Access Code with No One
Gate codes should never be shared with anyone. This protects the community and prevents unauthorized entry. If you believe someone has your code, please contact the office to request a new one.
8. Stay Alert When Walking at Night
The days are getting shorter. When walking after dark, stay aware of your surroundings and use well-lit areas. If you have a reflective vest or bright clothing, please wear it during nighttime walks.
9. Keep Pets Secure
Make sure gates close properly and pets cannot slip out, especially during evening hours when visibility is lower.
10. Check Your Home Cameras
If you use security or doorbell cameras, make sure they are working correctly and the lenses are clean. Clear video helps identify activity quickly and supports patrol efforts.
