Belinda Coon, outgoing president of the Boca Pointe Pap Corps chapter

During a delightful lunch, I met with outgoing vivacious President Belinda Coon. We spoke about her young life in Kansas where she spent her childhood overcoming rheumatoid arthritis and experiencing children coping with their cancer battles. She spoke lovingly of her parents and grandparents who were very instrumental in shaping her into a dedicated and responsible woman who would live a life with service and purpose.

After leaving the Midwest, finding her new life in sunny Florida, she continued her involvement with cancer research by joining the Pap Corps organization and serving as Fundraising Chairman, climbing to the Presidency of the Boca Pointe Chapter in Boca Raton where she served many years of leadership.

Her passion and dedication to the membership allowed her to share with the Board of Directors outstanding qualities of leadership and friendship. While she was so involved with the organization, she managed to wear many hats! Working as a telemarketer with her wonderful husband, Gary and also working at Chico’s and Nordstrom, in the mall seeing to her customers’ needs.

Belinda loves to work with beading beautiful jewelry. Now she will have more hours to herself enjoying her free time cooking, traveling and relaxing. She will continue to support Pap Corps because it is her heart’s desire. We are so grateful for her leadership, friendship and devotion to cancer research.
