A Message from Marci
As 2025 comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on an incredible year of service and collaboration. Being your Palm Beach County Commissioner continues to be a rewarding, challenging, and eye-opening experience. From navigating complex issues to celebrating community successes, this year has been full of learning, growth, and progress.
Thankfully, my amazing staff, county colleagues, and countless community partners have helped me navigate the sometimes-choppy waters of local government.
This year, I really focused on projects that make a tangible difference in our community, things that improve safety, strengthen neighborhoods, and enhance everyday quality of life for District 4 residents. One initiative I’m especially proud of is the Homebuyer Match Program, a pilot that helps make homeownership more attainable by matching a buyer’s investment dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000, to help with down payments, closing costs, and other purchase expenses.
I also spent a lot of time working on community-specific improvements. At Milani Park, I partnered with the Town of Highland Beach to phase parking in a way that balances town concerns, preserves the area’s character, and protects important historical and archaeological features. On the transportation side, I helped advance the Countywide Transportation Master Plan, which lays out a shared vision for safer, more connected, and coordinated multimodal transportation across our municipalities.
On a more local level, I worked directly with residents and cities to get things done, helping expedite the installation of a long-awaited fountain in a Boca Del Mar lake and collaborating with the City of Boca Raton on upgrades at Wildflower Park under the Palmetto Park Bridge. Street safety has also been a priority; after a tragic car accident, I initiated a street safety study to evaluate striping, tree placement, turning lanes, and other factors to make our roads safer for everyone.
I’ve also focused on removing barriers where I can. After hearing from a constituent, I kicked off research into updating the County’s Unified Land Development Code to make it easier and more affordable to host green markets through an annual temporary use process.
Throughout the year, my office has helped hundreds of residents by connecting them with county staff, state legislators, or partner organizations, making sure that even when an issue isn’t in our jurisdiction, people still know where to turn. And I’ve worked closely with local nonprofits and businesses to improve communication and streamline permitting so good projects can move forward efficiently.
While these are just a few of the initiatives I’ve tackled, they really highlight the wide range of issues I work on every day as a County Commissioner, balancing big-picture policy with neighborhood-level problem-solving and showing up wherever our community needs support.
These accomplishments reflect not only my office but the collaborative efforts of residents, municipal partners, county staff, and community organizations. Your engagement, feedback, and trust are what make these achievements possible.
As we look ahead to 2026, I remain committed to maintaining open dialogue, addressing concerns, and advancing initiatives that enhance the quality of life for all District 4 residents. Please reach out via any of the communication channels listed on the sidebar. I look forward to hearing from you!
I, for one, can’t wait to see what the new year brings!
Thank you for your support, trust, and partnership. Wishing you and your family a joyful holiday season and a happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year!
Palm Beach County Adopts FY 2026 Budget
The Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners is pleased to announce the adoption of the FY 2026 budget. For the third consecutive year, the County has held the millage rate steady at 4.5000, providing stability for homeowners.
The FY 2026 budget offers both a broad overview of County priorities and detailed information at the department level.
The Board is proud to share that the budget documents have been submitted to the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for consideration for the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award. Palm Beach County has received this award every year since 1986, and the Board is confident FY 2026 will continue this tradition.

PBI Road Closure
Heads up if you’re traveling from PBI this holiday season! The exit from PBI onto Australian Avenue (James L. Turnage) is closed for repairs from Dec. 15 through Jan. 16.
If you’re heading out, plan to use Belvedere Road at Congress Avenue or Belvedere Road at N. Florida Mango Road instead. All other airport roads, plus the I-95 exits, are still open.
The Australian Avenue entrance will close for a similar period late; details will be shared soon. Give yourself extra travel time, follow the signs, and check pbia.org for updates. Thanks for your patience while we make these repairs!
Nonprofit Spotlight
Boca Helping Hands (BHH) is a local nonprofit serving South Florida by providing food, financial assistance, and job training to individuals, children, and families. Their goal is to help community members in need and provide resources that support stability and independence.
They also offer access to affordable medical, dental and behavioral care through a partnership with Genesis Community Health and Florida Atlantic University’s Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing Community Based Clinics.
I recently assisted with the Thanksgiving Box Brigade for BHH, working alongside volunteers to make sure families had everything they needed for the holiday.
A special thank you to BHH for the thoughtful surprise cake to celebrate my husband’s birthday, it was a kind gesture that I truly appreciated. Thank you for all that you do to support families in our community.
